President of Russia Vladimir Putin: Comrades, veterans,
I extend my sincere congratulations to you on Security Agency Workers' Day.
On this occasion, we pay tribute to dedicated professionals - brave and resilient individuals who have chosen a demanding and responsible calling. They safeguard the country's sovereignty and constitutional order, protect its national interests, uphold the rights and freedoms of citizens, and, through their tireless and demanding work both at home and abroad, make an invaluable contribution to the development and strengthening of our nation.
Security agency personnel have always honoured and preserved the finest traditions of their service, ensured continuity between generations, and generously passed on invaluable experience to younger colleagues, experience that no textbook or manual can replace.
Today, you remember your legendary mentors with the deepest respect and pay tribute to veterans. Their devotion to the Fatherland remains an enduring moral guide for us all. They fought courageously against the Nazis and their collaborators, helping to bring about the Great Victory. The role of the special services, which emerged with honour and distinction from the intense trials of the Cold War, will forever hold a significant place in the history of our country.
We also honour the comrades who, at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, lost their lives defending Russia's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and future while combating the threat of international terrorism.
Today's generation of officers in the Federal Security Service, the Foreign Intelligence Service, the Federal Guard Service, and the Main Directorate of Special Programmes proudly carries forward their legacy, ensuring the safety and security of Russia and its people.
I would like to express my gratitude to the leadership and personnel of our special services for their precise and coordinated work in every situation, no matter how challenging, and for their balanced and decisive actions in countering both external and internal threats.
Special appreciation goes to those currently carrying out tasks to safeguard the rights and freedoms of citizens and to protect the interests of the state during the special military operation.
I am confident that each of you, in your respective roles, will continue to address every assigned task with dedication, applying your energy, expertise, and experience in service to the Motherland and our great people.
Once again, I extend my congratulations on this holiday and wish you a happy New Year 2026!
May you and your loved ones enjoy good health and continued success.
