INDIAN ARMY ORGANISES PNG TRANSITION WEBINAR 2026 TO ACCELERATE ADOPTION OF PIPED NATURAL GAS

The Indian Army organised the PNG Transition Webinar-2026 at Manekshaw Centre, Delhi Cantt to accelerate the transition to Piped Natural Gas (PNG) across feasible Army establishments. The webinar brought together key stakeholders from the Indian Army, Government agencies, Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB), Defence Estates Organisation, Military Engineer Services and City Gas Distribution (CGD) entities. The initiative supports the Government of India's vision of a gas-based economy.
The Indian Army plans to convert 41 Army Stations to PNG during FY 2026-27, followed by expansion to other feasible establishments. The Indian Army PNG Guide, released during the event, provides a common reference covering administrative, technical, safety and implementation requirements for a structured transition.
The webinar focused on addressing policy, regulatory, statutory, land, works, technical, safety, accounting and reimbursement aspects of the transition. Sessions also covered CGD readiness, station-level implementation experience and safety requirements. The webinar concluded with a reaffirmation of the Indian Army's commitment to achieve a safe, efficient and sustainable transition to PNG across the Indian Army.
