Anderson County construction projects updates:
US 175 Widening Project
Traffic is currently being switched to the new eastbound pavement. Motorists should expect new traffic patterns. Pavement operations are underway on the westbound side. The contractor will also continue removing the old Neches River bridge and construction of the new bridge. The project will expand the roadway to four lanes with new bridges across the Neches River.
FM 1990; FM 861; FM 19 - Safety Improvement Project
The contractor is scheduled to continue work on FM 1990, widening and clearing the area near the structures. The project consists of improving drainage, driveways, culverts, and upgrading the guard rail for safety.

Cherokee County construction projects updates:
US 175 Widening Project
The following county road intersections will be closed within the project limits:
The contractor is scheduled to continue work on the eastbound side through Cuney. Right of way prep work will also continue on the westbound side. The contractor will also continue drainage work, bridge work, and clearing utilities. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the work limits. The speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph throughout the project limits. This project consists of expansion to a four-lane roadway with new bridges, grading, asphalt, drainage structures, pavement markings, and signage. (This project is in Cherokee County but is managed by the Athens Area Office.)
FM 855 Improvements
The contractor is scheduled to continue bridge work, tree removal, and right of way prep. Motorists should drive with caution within the construction zone. No lane closures are anticipated. This project consists of improving drainage, cross culverts, driveways, mailbox turnouts, signage, and metal beam guard rail.
SH 204
This week, the contractor is scheduled to continue project closeout. Motorists should drive with caution within the construction zone. Lane closures are anticipated. This project consists of adding a super-two highway section.
US 69 and FM 2493 Grade Separated Interchange Realignment
Motorists should expect short-term lane closures on FM 2493, north of Panther Dr. Crews are scheduled to perform dirt work, tying in FM 2493 and US 69. Crews will also work on construction of the detour, north of Panther Dr, as well as work on the northbound frontage road. The project consists of a grade separated interchange and realignment of FM 2493 West of US 69.

Gregg County
Weather pending, Longview crews are scheduled to continue bridge channel maintenance on FM 2207 at Rocky Creek. The work will be northbound from Wilkens Road, south to Prairie Creek. Expect lane closures with flaggers and a pilot car controlling traffic. Crews will also continue edge work on FM 2275 in the east and westbound lanes. Work will be from Cherokee Rd. to Owens Rd.
Gregg County construction projects updates:
FM 2275
The project consists of widening from two lanes to four lanes. This will include a new bridge structure, pavement, metal beam guard fence, and striping. Crews are scheduled to install concrete barriers, excavating roadway to new grade, and installing storm culverts.
I-20 at the Sabine River Bridge
This project consists of removal of the existing bridge and replacing with a new bridge. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction for the majority of the project. At times, I-20 will be reduced to one lane. This project includes new pavement, metal beam guard fence, signage, and striping. This week, the contractor is scheduled to drill shafts for the bridge structure.
Young St. - City of Longview
This project consists of constructing sidewalks and accessible ramps for people with disabilities on both sides of Mobberly Ave. This week, the contractor is scheduled to complete sidewalks, ramps, seeding, and cleanup.
I-20 Resurfacing
This project consists of milling asphalt off the surface and placing new hot mix asphalt from the Sabine River bridge to the Harrison County line. Work will be done in both the east and westbound lanes. The contractor is scheduled to perform punch list items and striping. Motorists should expect lane closures during overnight hours.
SL 485 Widening
This project consists of grading, base work, asphalt surface replacement, storm drain work, bridge and culvert structures, signage, and signals. The project is tentatively scheduled to begin in March 2026. (This project is in Smith County but is managed by the Mineola Area Office.)

Henderson County construction projects updates:
BUS 19 Sidewalks - College St.
The project is underway and includes constructing sidewalk on both sides of BUS 19.
BUS 19 Sidewalks - Ben Belt Dr.
The project is nearing completion. The contractor is finalizing areas along the corridor. Motorists should expect lane closures while work is in progress. The project includes sidewalk and pedestrian access improvements.
SH 31 Landscape Development
The contractor has completed major items of work. This project consists of adding landscaping, fresh vegetation, and edging.
SH 19 Super 2 Project
The contractor is scheduled to perform hot mix operations in the north and southbound lanes. The speed limit is reduced to 60 mph throughout the project limits. Crews will also perform surface repairs. This project includes adding passing lanes in both directions at multiple locations. It also includes grading, drainage structures, pavement markings, and signage.
BUS 31 Rehabilitation
The project includes removal of current surface, base repairs, resurfacing, striping, and signage.

Rusk County
Henderson maintenance crews will be repairing edges and base failures on FM 1716. They will also continue patching work at various locations. Contractor crews will be trimming and removing trees at various locations. Motorists should expect lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic.
Rusk County construction projects updates:
US 259
This project consists of removing some crossovers for safety and adding left turn lanes to the remaining crossovers. The contractor is scheduled to backfill the new embankment for the new turn lanes.
US 84 - FM 225 East to CR 3155
This project includes reconstruction of US 84, extended structures, a hot mix asphalt surface, new signage, and striping. This week, the contractor is scheduled to install the guard fence and perform edge work. Motorists should expect alternating lane closures.
SH 315
This project consists of widening pavement edges and installing a separation between opposing traffic lanes to improve safety. Work will also include adding a passing lane in each direction. This week, the contractor is scheduled to lay asphalt. Motorists should expect alternating lane closures. Crews will also perform striping and guard fence installation.
US 259 and US 79 Landscaping
This project consists of improving and upgrading the flower beds at US 259/US 79, Wilson St., and US 79/Fairpark St. The contractor will be constructing new borders and placing new vegetation. Motorists should expect temporary lane closures.

Smith County
Weather permitting, Smith County crews are scheduled to perform mill and inlay on FM 850 from SH 31 to FM 2767. Motorists should expect lane closures. A second crew is scheduled to repair erosion issues on FM 2710 and FM 346, east of US 69. Motorists should expect both day and nighttime lane closures. Contractor crews are scheduled to continue tree trimming on FM 1252 and guardrail repairs at multiple locations.
Smith County construction projects updates:
US 69 and Henderson St.
The contractor is scheduled to complete planting in the US 69 and FM 344 medians. Lane closures are not expected, but motorists should drive with caution. This project consists of beautification work along US 69 in Bullard.
FM 2493 Widen Non-Freeway
The contractor has closed access to CR 172 (Goodson Spur) from FM 2493 for the next four to six weeks as crews work on edge drop-off repairs. Motorists should use CR 177 for the detour. This project consists of widening the existing non-freeway roadway.
District Bridge Rehabilitation
This week, the contractor is scheduled to pour concrete and remove the mow strips at SS 147. The contractor is scheduled to continue repairs at the FM 349 overpass. This project consists of cleaning and sealing the existing bridge joints, asphalt work, resurfacing the bridge deck, installing new metal beam guard fencing, steel and concrete repairs.
I-20 Bridge Maintenance
Motorists should expect nightly lane closures on US 69 at I-20. Motorists should also expect a left lane closure on the eastbound I-20 service road, past US 69. The U-turn between US 69 and Jim Hogg Road will remain closed. Crews will continue bridge maintenance. This project is bridge maintenance consisting of cleaning and painting the existing steel bridge structures.
Smith County Bridge Rehabilitation II
Motorists should expect one lane, two-way traffic on FM 2087 over I-20 as crews continue work. This project consists of cleaning and sealing existing joints, resurfacing the bridge deck, steel and concrete repairs.
FM 16 Widening and Realignment
The project consists of grading, asphalt base, asphalt surface overlay paving, storm drain, bridge, and culvert structures, signing, pavement markings, and signals. A traffic shift is currently in place through town. Traffic will be in two lanes during this phase of construction. Embankment installation is ongoing. Paving operations are scheduled to continue this week. A detour is planned in the coming days, west of Springcrest Lane. Weather pending, the detour is scheduled to last 4-6 weeks. Motorists are encouraged to drive with caution and expect delays. (This project is in Smith County but is managed by the Mineola Area Office.)

Van Zandt County
Canton crews are scheduled to repair patches at various locations throughout the county. A second crew will be on winter storm cleanup. A third crew will perform ditch and bridge maintenance at various locations.
Van Zandt County construction projects updates:
FM 17, FM 47, and FM 859 Bridge Replacement
This project includes construction of new bridges and approaches, grading, base and surface work, and installation of metal beam guard fencing. Motorists should expect reduced speed limits and narrowed shoulders on both the I-20 main lanes and frontage roads. All bridges are open to traffic. The contractor is working on punch list items on all bridges.
FM 1255 Rehabilitate Existing Roadway
This project is for the rehabilitation of the existing roadway consisting of roadway widening, grading, rework base material, cement treatment, flex base, resurfacing intersections & driveways, extending cross structures, signs, and pavement markings. Work will be completed under live traffic conditions. Right of way prep and stump removal are ongoing. Roadway rehabilitation operations and cross structure installation are ongoing. This work also consists of milling the existing roadway. Lane closures and speed zone reductions are expected. Motorists should expect delays.
SH 19 Super 2 Project
This project consists of base repair, subgrade repair, asphalt work, sealcoat, culvert structures, signage, and striping. Project is scheduled to begin in early 2026. Crews will be installing drainage devices and removing trees in the right of way.
FM 1651 Rehabilitate Existing Roadway
The contractor is scheduled to continue roadway widening between Tundra and SH 19. This project includes widening the road, repairing the base, adding signs, and painting new stripes. Crews will complete groundwork in one-mile segments. Drivers should expect lane closures and slower speed limits in the area. Motorists should expect delays. (This project is in Van Zandt County but is managed by the Athens Area Office.)
FM 279 Rehabilitation
Crews are scheduled to install new signage and mailboxes. Motorists should expect delays and use caution when traveling through the area. Lane closures are in place. The project consists of grading, drainage improvements, asphalt paving, striping, and signage. (This project is in Van Zandt County but is managed by the Athens Area Office.)

This week, crews are scheduled to continue bridge maintenance at various locations. Crews will also address base repairs on FM 14 between SH 154 and FM 49. Additional crews will perform edge repairs on FM 2966 between FM 515 and the Yantis city limits.

US 69 Grade-Separated Interchange
This project consists of grading, base, asphalt, drainage, structures, overpass, signing, and striping. The project also includes curb and gutter work along the frontage roads. Crews will continue retaining wall work and will be drilling the bridge shafts. Traffic is now on temporary paving south of existing US 69. Motorists should expect delays when work is in progress.
