One Caribbean! That is what we're celebrating here today, and I want to thank this incredible association for nearly 60 years of being a powerhouse, to remind us of how vibrant the Caribbean is, and the culture, the customs, the colors, the cuisine, all from the Caribbean. Roger Archibald, thank you for being an incredible president. Andy Maloney, our chairman. Khari Edwards, our Brooklyn advisor and our emcee.

To all the elected officials here, I wanted to say this: I know there's a lot of stress in our communities. We spoke about it last year and it's only gotten worse, because people are afraid to leave their homes, afraid to go to their churches, afraid to take their kids to school, afraid to go to their businesses that they may have built over decades.

But I'll tell you this right now: New York State is not a place we will ever, ever, ever support the overreach of ICE. This is New York. We are better, more vibrant and stronger because of welcoming people from all around the world, but particularly the Caribbean. So I will continue to be a fighter for you. Today we celebrate. Today we march. Today we're playing mas. And I'm excited about being out there with you as I always have. But tomorrow, we get back up, we put on our boxing gloves and we fight back, because that's what we do here in the State of New York.

So know this: I'm so proud to be your governor, trying to make life more affordable, so that children who are here and those yet to come will know that they can afford to live here. That means free breakfast and lunches in schools for every single child, universal childcare so no parent has to pay to be able to go to work, thousand dollar credit for every child under the age of four to help with the expenses.

And everybody, get this, watch the mail because we're sending a billion dollars out to help with your utility bills over the next couple of weeks. So I'm committed to making life more affordable here in New York, making life safer as we continue to drive down crime. But right now, I want to thank all of you and this amazing organization for keeping the tradition going. Thank you very much, everybody.
