Comment period open for Crawford County bridge deck replacement project…

JEFFERSON CITY , M o . - The Missouri Department of Transportation is seeking community input on a project to replace the Crawford County Route N bridge deck over the Meramec River . Built in 1972, the supporting structures are in good condition, but the deck is in need of replacement. Construction is expected in 2027 .

Replacing the bridge deck will require a full closure of Route N at the bridge during construction . A signed detour will direct motorists to use Crawford County Route s J and C, Interstate 44, and Missouri Route 185.

As part of the design process, MoDOT is seeking community input and has multiple ways by which interested parties can provide feedback during the open comment period, April 2 - 23 , 202 6 . By commenting, questioning, and providing community insight, the public's input is essential in helping to guide the design and construction process.

• In person - An open-house style public meeting will be held T hursday , April 9 , 202 6 , from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Bourbon Area Community Center , 575 Elm Street , in Bourbon . The project team will be on hand to answer questions , provide information, and receive input about the project. There will be no formal presentation, so attendees may come and go as they please at any time during the advertised hours.
