ERIA President Meets Australian Ambassador to ASEAN to Advance Regional Co-operation

Jakarta, 3 March 2026: ERIA President H.E. Tetsuya Watanabe received H.E. Tiffany McDonald, Ambassador of Australia to ASEAN, at ERIA's office in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on the evolving regional landscape and to discuss shared priorities in strengthening ASEAN's economic resilience and sustainable growth.
President Watanabe and Ambassador McDonald reviewed the progress of ERIA's Capacity Building and Start-up and Innovation programmes, which are supported by Australia. They also explored opportunities to further deepen co-operation in key areas, including energy security, economic resilience, the digital economy, and industrial policy.
Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to maintaining close engagement and enhancing collaboration to advance evidence-based policy dialogue and research initiatives in support of sustainable and inclusive development across ASEAN.
