Chinese Ambassador to Namibia Zhao Weiping Attends the Handover Ceremony of the Phase I Project of the China-Aided Satellite Ground Data Receiving Station and Processing System[...]

On February 12, the handover ceremony of the Phase I project of the China-aided Satellite Ground Data Receiving Station and Processing System in Namibia was held in Windhoek. Entrusted by President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Honorable Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare attended the ceremony and jointly unveiled the project plaque with Ambassador Zhao Weiping.

In his remarks, Ambassador Zhao stated that the project is the first development assistance project of high-tech nature China has conducted in Namibia, which has vividly demonstrated China's strong willingness to support African countries' efforts of advancing their science and technology development and achieving industrialization. China will continue to provide active support for Namibia's economic and social development.

Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare read the written keynote address of President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, expressing gratitude to China for the generous support, and noted that this support has enabled Namibia to join a select group of African countries with modern ground stations capable of receiving real-time satellite data, solidifying the enduring friendship and strong bilateral relations between China and Namibia.
