(Leavenworth, Kansas) - Four University of Saint Mary students are among a select group of undergraduates to receive scholarships from the Kansas Independent College Foundation.
Catherine Thomas, a nursing major from Lawrence, Kansas, received the New Horizons Scholarship, which honors first-generation college students. Tenike Kuhns, a nursing major from Atchison, Kansas, was awarded the Better Life Degree Completion Award, recognizing students who return to finish their degree after a period of absence.
Madyson Kline of Basehor, Kansas, an applied mathematics major on the pre-actuary track, received the William Tschudy Scholarship for Business & Public Service. This award recognizes students who plan to pursue graduate education and apply business expertise in service to the public.
Seydi Garcia Clemente, an exercise science major from Kansas City, Kansas, received a Maud Wyatt Recognition Scholarship. The Kansas Independent College Association established the award to honor Maud Wyatt, whose generous bequest has supported the work of KICA and its institutions since 1961.
