With deep sadness, Albertsons Library shares that Elizabeth "Beth" Allen died on Sept. 27, 2025.
If you have ever visited the Albertsons Library website, used a library computer, or reserved a study room, you have experienced part of Allen's legacy. With over 40 years of dedicated service to Boise State University and Albertsons Library, she played an integral role in the development and delivery of many of the library's systems and services. Her most recent role was application administrator, where her expertise, precision and commitment positively impacted countless students and colleagues.
Allen was a respected and cherished member of the library community, known for her deep institutional knowledge, unwavering dedication and generous support of others. She worked in nearly every unit within the library and was part of its evolution through multiple remodels and major transitions. She mentored and supervised countless student employees, always willing to share her experience and wisdom. Her presence shaped the culture of the library, and her influence will continue to be felt for years to come. She is deeply missed.
Those who knew Allen are invited to share their memories and reflections through an online form. Stories collected will be shared with her family as a way to honor her life and lasting impact.
A celebration of life will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Nov. 5 on the second floor of Albertsons Library (CID space). All are welcome to attend.
