Chinese Ambassador to Somalia Wang Yu Meets with Prime Minister of Somalia Hamza Abdi Barre
On December 8, H.E. Wang Yu, Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, met with H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, Prime Minister of Somalia.
Ambassador Wang conveyed sincere sympathies to Prime Minister Barre over the severe drought in Somalia on behalf of the Chinese side, and briefed Prime Minister on China's latest emergency humanitarian assistance to Awdal region in northern Somalia. China will continue to step up coordination and cooperation with Somalia and wish the Somali people overcome the difficulties at an early date.
Prime Minister Barre expressed his gratitude to China for its support, highly appreciated China's provision of emergency humanitarian assistance to the Awdal region, and said that with the support of China and other friendly countries, the Government of Somalia has confidence to cope with the humanitarian crisis.
