PHOTOS: MTA Celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with Special Subway Signage at Grand Central-42 St
Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad Adding Service For the Parade
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is celebrating St. Patrick's Day in the transit system with crews placing green shamrock-shaped decals at the Grand Central-42 St station. Customer Service Agents will also hand out stickers to riders at the Grand Central-42 St and 59 St stations, and the 68 St-Hunter College station tomorrow, March 17.
Both Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad are adding trains for the parade; details can be found here.
Special messaging encouraging parade goers to take mass transit to the St. Patrick's Day Parade can be seen on digital signage.
New York City's St. Patrick's Day Parade will be held on Tuesday, March 17, at 11:00 a.m. For those participating in the parade and those looking to watch, the MTA is the safest and most reliable way to get there. Grand Central Terminal, serving Metro-North Railroad and NYC Transit subway below it, and the Long Island Rail Road at Grand Central Madison, all leave riders close to the parade route.
