Tempe This Week March 16, 2026

Temperatures in Tempe are forecast to reach around 100 degrees this week. Typical highs in March are usually in the mid- to upper-70s. The City of Tempe is reminding contractors and residents about heat safety protections and simple steps to stay safe as temperatures begin to rise.

Last year, Tempe adopted heat safety standards to help protect outdoor workers on City contracts. Contractors working outdoors for extended periods must provide cool drinking water, hydration breaks and access to shaded or air-conditioned rest areas when temperatures reach 90 degrees.

Residents are also encouraged to stay heat-safe by drinking water regularly, taking breaks in the shade and avoiding strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day.
