Undersecretary Tripodi in Malaysia for meetings with Italian business community and political authorities

The Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Maria Tripodi, continues her mission to South East Asia in Malaysia.

Yesterday afternoon, she met representatives of the Italian business community and the Country System at the Italian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, with whom she discussed future investment opportunities within the framework of growth diplomacy.

The Undersecretary pointed out During a conversation with Deputy Trade Minister Yang Berhormat Tuan Liew Chin Tong, the undersecretary pointed out: "Malaysia is a country of primary importance for Italy, with which we intend to further strengthen collaboration, also through the organisation of the first Italian-Malaysian Business Forum, which we will host in Italy. There are several sectors in which we have recognised expertise to share with your companies, including pharmaceuticals, energy transition, automotive, agro-industry, aerospace and defence."

The Undersecretary and the Deputy Foreign Minister, Yang Berhormat Datuk Mohamad bin Haji Alamin, discussed the areas of strategic complementarity between the two countries, the main issues on the global agenda, and the start of Malaysia's Presidency of ASEAN, an organisation in which Italy has steadily increased its commitment. Undersecretary Tripodi finally held talks with the Director General of National Security, YM Raja Dat Nurshirwanz Abidin, and the Deputy Minister of Energy Transition, Tuan Nasrullah bin Mohd Nasir.
