Bridge Replacement over Blackbird Creek along US 13
Townsend - The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces to motorists the closure of US 13 for replacement of BR 1-488 over Blackbird Creek.
Monday, September 8 the Northbound lanes will close to traffic beginning at 12:00am and will remain closed for 45 days. To avoid the closure motorists should turn Left onto SR 1 at on ramp to SR 1 North in Smyrna, Continue north on SR 1 for 10 miles, Exit SR 1 right at exit 136 in Odessa, turn right onto SR 299 (Middletown Odessa Rd), Turn left onto US 13 and continue North.
Monday, September 15 the Southbound lanes will closed to traffic beginning at 12:00am and will remain closed for 45 days. To avoid the closure motorist should turn Right onto SR 299 (Middletown Odessa Rd), Turn left onto SR 1 at the ramp to SR1 South in Odessa, Continue south on SR 1 for 10 miles, Exit SR 1 right at the exit 119B in Smyrna, turn Left onto US 13 and continue South.
This work is weather dependent. Motorists should use caution and expect to use the posted detour routes.
