One Deceased Following Shooting in the Sellwood-Moreland Neighborhood

A person is deceased following a shooting in the Sellwood-Moreland Neighborhood, and Homicide Detectives are responding to the scene.

On Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 10:05 p.m., Portland Police Officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to reports of gunshots in the area of Southeast 17th Avenue and Southeast Harold Street. When officers arrived, they found a male victim down on the sidewalk. Paramedics responded and confirmed the victim was deceased at the scene.

The suspect or suspects left the scene and no immediate arrests were made.

The Portland Police Detective Division Homicide Unit is responding to the scene to investigate the case.

During the investigation, Southeast Harold Street is closed between Southeast Milwaukie Avenue and Southeast 18th Avenue, and Southeast 17th Avenue is closed between Southeast Insley Street and Southeast Ellis Street.
