Everything to know about the new ‘Harry Potter’ audiobooks from Audible

Harry Potter fans, get ready: The Harry Potteraudiobooks are about to get a whole lot more immersive. Audible, in partnership with Pottermore Publishing, will release a brand-new full-cast production of all seven Harry Potter books, breathing new life into the iconic stories with more than 2,000 recording hours logged to date for these complete, unabridged editions.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, the first book in the series, will debut globally on November 4. The remaining six English-language audiobooks will be released monthly after that.

Amazon Music to include Audible's unmatched selection of audiobooks

Unlimited subscribers in the U.S., UK, and Canada can enjoy one book a month, including a selection of over a million audiobooks in the U.S., plus 100 million HD songs and top podcasts.

These new productions will include an all-new soundscape with produced sound effects and voice actors, making for an immersive listening experience of the original books. Not only that, but the productions will be available in full Dolby Atmos, ensuring that the real-world sound effects and stunning score sound even better and more realistic. These new productions won't replace the classic recordings by Jim Dale and Stephen Fry, but rather sit alongside them as another option for those who want to dive into the vast world of Harry Potter.
"Together with Pottermore Publishing, best-in-class producers, and over one hundred actors, we will introduce a groundbreaking new soundscape for the Wizarding World, as well as performances that will inspire our listeners' imaginations and redefine these quintessential characters for a new generation," said Bob Carrigan, CEO of Audible.

Who are the voice actors for the new 'Harry Potter' audiobooks?

There will be more than 200 voice actors for the new audiobooks. These include:
  • Golden Globe Award winner Hugh Laurie as Albus Dumbledore
  • Emmy, Golden Globe and BAFTA Award winner Matthew Macfadyen as Lord Voldemort
  • Academy Award winner and Emmy Award winner Riz Ahmed as Professor Snape
  • Frankie Treadaway, Max Lester, and Arabella Stanton as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger, respectively, in Books 1, 2, and 3.
  • Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan, and Nina Barker-Francis as Harry, Ron, and Hermione, respectively, in Books 4, 5, 6, and 7.
  • BAFTA Award nominee Michelle Gomez as Professor McGonagall
  • Laurence Olivier Award and Critics Choice Award nominee Cush Jumbo OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) as the narrator
Additional cast members will be announced at a later date.

When will full-cast Harry Potter audiobooks be available?

The first audiobook will drop on November 4, with the other six books released every month afterward.
