Guest Artist Recital: "Songs of Sunshine, Love, Conflict, and Death"

Music, Department of Wednesday January 22, 2025

Tuesday, Jan. 28 Georgia College & State University welcomes guest artists for an evening of 'Songs of Sunshine, Love, Conflict, and Death," at 7:30 p.m. in Max Noah Recital Hall, featuring members of the 1716 Collective of the University of North Georgia: Yue Yin, coloratura soprano; Benjamin Schoening, lyric baritone; and David Peoples, piano, percussion, and composer. The concert will include music for soprano or baritone and piano with literature from notable 19th century poets and writers ranging from Edgar Allen Poe, Christina Rosetti, Emily Dickenson, and many more. All compositions on the program are by Georgia-based composer David R. Peoples, with 2 World Premiers on the program. This concert will also be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/GCMusicDepartment. A $5 donation is encouraged. Online donations can be made at give.gcsu.edu/g/department-of-music/.
