Week 2 - NFC Players of the Week

NEW YORK - Sept. 23, 2026 - San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, Carolina Panthers linebacker Devin Lloyd and Minnesota Vikings cornerback Isaiah Rodgers are the NFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played in Week 2 (September 17, 20-21).

OFFENSE: QB BROCK PURDY, SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

• Purdy completed 20 of 22 pass attempts (90.9 percent) for 287 yards and two touchdowns for a 149.1 rating and added a rushing touchdown in San Francisco's 35-13 win against Miami. He became the first player in NFL history to complete at least 90 percent of his pass attempts, pass for at least 285 yards and two touchdowns and have a rushing touchdown in the same game.
  
  
• This is Purdy's third-career Offensive Player of the Week award. He joins Pro Football Hall of Famers Steve Young (12-time winner) and Joe Montana (eight) as the only San Francisco quarterbacks to win the award at least three times.

• Purdy is the only former Iowa State player to earn multiple Offensive Player of the Week awards.
  

DEFENSE: LB DEVIN LLOYD, CAROLINA PANTHERS

• Lloyd had nine tackles, three passes defensed, two tackles for loss and two interceptions - including a 16-yard interception returned for a touchdown - in Carolina's 34-3 win at Atlanta. He became the fifth linebacker with a sack and two interceptions, including an interception returned for a touchdown, in a game since 1982, when the individual sack became an official statistic.
  
  
• This is Lloyd's second-career Defensive Player of the Week award (Week 4, 2025 with Jacksonville) and first with Carolina. He becomes the eighth Panthers linebacker to win the award and the first since Frankie Luvu (Week 8, 2023).
  
  
• Lloyd is the first former Utah player to win multiple Defensive Player of the Week awards.

SPECIAL TEAMS: CB ISAIAH RODGERS, MINNESOTA VIKINGS

• Rodgers blocked a field goal attempt to keep the Vikings ahead 6-3 late in the fourth quarter in Minnesota's 9-3 win at Chicago.
  
  
• This is Rodgers' second-career Player of the Week award (Defense, Week 3, 2025) and he is the first defensive back to win Special Teams Player of the Week for the Vikings.
  
  
• Rodgers is the only former University of Massachusetts player to win a Player of the Week award.
