South Dakota Farmers Invited to Apply for See For Yourself Tour
Sioux Falls, SD - The South Dakota Soybean Research and Promotion Council invites South Dakota soybean farmers to participate in the checkoff's See For Yourself program, an exclusive opportunity to explore how checkoff investments are expanding international markets for South Dakota soybeans.
The See For Yourself program was designed to give South Dakota soybean farmers a unique, hands-on opportunity to learn about their customers beyond the elevator and the soybean checkoff's role in marketing South Dakota and U.S. soy to those customers.
SEE FOR YOURSELF 2025
The 2025 tour will take place in Mexico on July 7-11. Program highlights include:
Viterra Shuttle Station
Proan's Feed Mill
Empresas Guadalupe
USSEC update
Participants will gain firsthand insight into the global demand for U.S. soy and how checkoff-funded efforts are strengthening trade relationships, supporting animal agriculture, and driving innovation in soy-based products.
Feed Mill"The See For Yourself program was a fantastic experience," said Carson Stange, a farmer from Stratford, who participated in last year's tour of the Pacific Northwest. "Seeing the export process up close was eye-opening, but what's even more exciting is learning about what happens to our soybeans after they leave the country. I encourage farmers to take this opportunity to understand the full journey of their crop beyond the farm gate."
The South Dakota Soybean Research and Promotion Council is committed to increasing the profitability of your soybeans and wants to give farmers the opportunity to gain a better understanding of your commodity's supply chain and checkoff activities. The See For Yourself program is fully funded by the South Dakota Soybean Checkoff, covering travel, lodging, and meals for selected participants.
Applications will be accepted until May 10, 2025. To qualify for the tour, applicants must be over the age of 21 and grow soybeans in the state of South Dakota. Due to costs related to the trip preparation and reservation cancellation, there will be a $200 fee for cancellations after May 19, 2025.
Farmers interested in joining the tour can apply at www.sdsoybean.org. For more information, contact the South Dakota Soybean office at (605) 330-9942.
