MEMA ALERT: Flood Advisory In Effect For East Maui Until 10 AM HST This Morning
MEMA Alert...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM HST THIS MORNING FOR THE ISLAND OF MAUI IN MAUI COUNTY...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.
* WHERE...The island of Maui in Maui County.
* WHEN...Until 1000 AM HST.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
streams.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 646 AM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over windward east
Maui. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2.5 inches per hour.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Kipahulu, Kaupo, Nahiku, Keanae, Hana, Haleakala National
Park, Wailua and Hamoa.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.
