Two-Vehicle Collision Claims Nashville Man

Update: The man killed in Friday's two-vehicle collision on Old Hickory Boulevard is identified as Bart Burton, 67.

The man killed in Friday's 1:15 p.m. two-vehicle collision on Old Hickory Boulevard at Southfork Boulevard is identified as a 67-year-old Nashville man. Efforts are underway to notify his next of kin.

The preliminary investigation indicates that he was driving a 1998 Toyota Camry north on Old Hickory Boulevard when he crossed over into oncoming traffic and sideswiped a southbound pickup truck. The Camry traveled through the intersection, struck a curb, and rolled over. The driver of the Camry was transported to Skyline Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to Summit Medical Center with minor injuries.

According to witnesses, the driver of the Camry was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the collision. There were no signs of impairment on the part of either driver at the scene.
