Values. Community. Support. Those are the concepts that epitomize the Latino spirit, according to leaders in education, business, and media who spoke during Comunidad, Educación, y Cultura, an annual Hispanic Heritage Month celebration organized by Dellas Management and hosted by Berkeley College in New York City on October 14, 2025.

The event was headlined by a live recording of the Teach Me Something podcast, featuring the media debut by Jay, Founder of the entertainment website World Latin Star. The episode launched the second season of the podcast, presented by Berkeley College and iHeartPodcasts. The podcast is hosted by DJ Prostyle, a nationally recognized DJ and media personality, and Panagiota Babadelis, Senior Director, Marketing and Communications, Berkeley College, who is also known by her radio personality, Penny Dellas.

"As we honor Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebrate the stories that show learning is limitless and culture is power," Babadelis said. "We are inspired by the voices of our exceptional speakers whose experiences reflect knowledge, strength, and pride in our communities."

Jay founded World Latin Star more than a decade ago with the mission to support up-and-coming Latino talent.

"Don't limit yourself," Jay told an audience of students, faculty, and community members. "Just because someone says, 'Not right now' does not mean that you are doing something wrong. Just keep moving and don't try to block someone else who has a dream."

Following the recording, the program welcomed a panel of leaders in education, business, and media, who discussed how their cultural heritage has influenced their career journeys. The panel was moderated by Jennifer Santibanez, Director, Premium Video, The Orchard.

"What I love about continuing education is that it allows you to get to the next level, and it helps build confidence," said Maria Rivera, Director, Continuing Education, Berkeley College. "If you are in the communities and you are trying to make a difference, you need that confidence. You need that belief that anything is possible."

Chancy Wozow, Founder, Feminine Alpha, spoke about how she uses her media platform to elevate the voices of others.

"I am one voice," Wozow said. "But if I can use my platform to support the voices of so many other women, then we can all benefit."

Gregory Schipilliti, International Director and Head of Latino Segment, DailyPay, discussed "embracing the grind" on his professional journey.

"Embracing the grind is very intentional," Schipilliti said. "It means bringing together your community, your values, and the endless number of hours that you have worked as a resource."

"Berkeley College is incredibly proud to serve a diverse student body, with more than 40 percent of our student population of Hispanic descent," said Diane Recinos, EdD, President of Berkeley College. "Our institution has long been a haven for diversity and inclusivity, and our Hispanic students play a pivotal role in shaping our vibrant community."
