NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (October 14, 2025) - It's that time!
The City is gearing up for leaf collection season; residents are urged to take advantage of free leaf bags for their fall cleanup.
The bags can be obtained at the Department of Public Works, 400 Jersey Ave., on select dates and times. Leaf collection begins on Nov. 5 and continues through the end of December.
Each property is eligible to receive a maximum of 20 free, biodegradable leaf bags during both the spring and autumn leaf collection periods. To pick up these bags, residents must present one of the following documents as proof of New Brunswick residency: a current driver's license, municipal ID, deed, tax bill, or a utility bill with a matching residential address in the City.
A letter is required for property owners authorizing others without a corresponding New Brunswick ID to collect the bags. Additionally, residents can purchase up to 50 additional leaf bags in bundles of 10 for $5.
Here's the list of times and dates to collect the leaf bags, along with the leaf collection schedule and map.
