Portland Police Seeking Missing Endangered Person, Requesting Public to Call if Seen

The Portland Police Bureau is seeking a missing endangered woman who left her home this morning in the Humboldt Neighborhood and has not been seen since, and the public is asked to call if she is seen.

On Saturday, July 18, 2026 at about 8:00 a.m., Embafrash Afle, 85, walked away from her home in the area of North Michigan Avenue and North Jarrett Street. She suffers from symptoms of dementia, and the Missing Persons Unit is concerned about her welfare.

Embafrash is and 85-year-old Black female, 5'3" in height, 145lbs., brown eyes, and bushy gray hair. The attached photo is from about 2 weeks ago. However, she is likely wearing the same or similar dress. She is able give her name, however she does not speak English. She speaks Ethiopian languages, including Afroasiatic Amharic and Tigrigna.

Embafrash has been known to walk to Peninsula Park and to various TriMet stations, including North Killingsworth Street and North Interstate Avenue.
