MaineHealth Waldo Hospital, Local Organizations Offer Flu Clinics

BELFAST, Maine - MaineHealth Waldo Hospital will offer drive-through and indoor flu clinics at several Waldo County locations in late September and through October. The clinics, which are open to the public, will offer both standard-and high-dose flu shots. Adults age 18 and older are welcome.

Community flu clinics will be also be held at the Waldo County YMCA and Belfast Soup Kitchen in partnership with the City of Belfast.

Clinic locations include:

• MaineHealth Primary Care Family Medicine Stockton Springs (Indoor Clinics), 11 Cape Jellison Road
  • Monday, Sept. 28, from 1 to 3 p.m.
  • Monday, Oct. 5, from 8 to 10 a.m.
  • Monday, Oct. 19, from 1 to 3 p.m.
• MaineHealth Primary Care Family Medicine Brooks (Indoor Clinics), 55 Reynolds Road
  • Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 1 to 3 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 8 to 10 a.m.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 20, from 1 to 3 p.m.
• Waldo County YMCA (Indoor Clinic), 157 Lincolnville Ave. in Belfast
  • Wednesday, Sept. 30, 8:30 a.m. to noon
• MaineHealth Biscone Health Center Parking Lot (Drive-through Clinics), 119 Northport Ave. (across the street from the main hospital campus)
  • Friday, Oct. 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Belfast Soup Kitchen (Indoor Clinics), 31 Belmont Ave.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 11 a.m. to noon
  • Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 11 a.m. to noon
  • Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 11 a.m. to noon

As in past years, the drive-through flu clinics are designed to be user friendly, and no appointments are needed. On-site signage at each location will lead you to a drive-through location where clinical staff will greet you and administer the flu vaccine.

Most insurances are accepted, and those with insurance should be sure to bring their insurance card. Those without insurance can receive flu vaccines at no cost.

MaineHealth recommends an annual flu shot for everyone age six months and older-especially people who are at greater risk for serious complications from the flu.
