A newly developing partnership: Budrys met with Zambia's foreign minister

On 23 September, the Minister-designate of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Kęstutis Budrys met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Zambia Mulambo Haimbe in New York.

The Lithuanian and Zambian Ministers discussed prospects for developing economic bilateral cooperation and emphasized the importance of close ties in the context of global challenges. Budrys and Haimbe signed a memorandum of understanding on bilateral political consultations between Lithuania and Zambia.

The head of Lithuania's diplomacy thanked Zambia for its strong position in upholding the principles of territorial integrity and sovereignty, and stressed the need at the United Nations to maintain focus on Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

At the meeting organised in the framework of the Global Outreach initiative of the European Union, the Minister Budrys also presented the positions of the EU.
