Fatal Motorcycle Crash

GREENSBORO, NC (August 10, 2026) - Greensboro Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that happened Sunday night.

At approximately 9:07 p.m., David Len McDaniel, 56, of Greensboro, was operating a Harley-Davidson south on US 29, between Textile Drive and East Wendover Avenue, when both he and a vehicle beside him drove through standing water. McDaniel was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the road. A passing vehicle struck McDaniel, who died from his injuries at the scene.

The other driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Neither speed nor impairment are suspected.

The Greensboro Police Department's Crash Reconstruction Unit responded and is handling the investigation.
