Beta Alpha Psi earns national recognition and top honors

Boise State University's Beta Alpha Psi chapter brought home major accolades from the 2025 BAP Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas, demonstrating the students' commitment to academic excellence and community service. BAP is an international honor society for accounting, finance and information students attending AACSB-accredited schools of business.

During the meeting, the chapter received the prestigious IRS VITA Platinum Award for its outstanding work in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. During the 2025 filing season, Boise State's IRS-certified tax preparers - many of them students - prepared 1,052 tax returns free of charge for community members. The platinum designation is reserved for chapters that prepare over 1,000 returns, and Boise State was one of just five chapters to receive the award this year.

Boise State's BAP chapter was also named a Gold Chapter for the 2024-2025 academic year. This designation is a high honor, recognizing chapters that consistently meet rigorous national benchmarks for professional development, community service and academic engagement

In another accomplishment, undergraduate accounting student and BAP officer Nic Zimmerly was part of a winning team for the "Project Run with It" case competition at the meeting.
