City Staff Emergency Shelter Training

On May 7, City staff participated in an American Red Cross led shelter training which focused on emergency shelter operations and disaster response coordination. The training provided participants with an overview of shelter management procedures, client services, registration processes, and strategies for supporting individuals and families impacted by disasters. Staff also strengthened their understanding of safety protocols, teamwork, and the critical role shelters play in supporting community resilience during emergencies.

Through group discussion and scenario-based learning, participants gained valuable skills to help establish and operate emergency shelters efficiently and compassionately. This training reinforces our ongoing commitment to preparedness, partnership, and ensuring our community is ready to respond when disasters occur.
