On October 20, the Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations and Other International Organizations in Vienna, together with the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna and the United Nations Women's Guild, co-hosted a special event at the Vienna International Centre to celebrate the successful convening of the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women and to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women held in Beijing. The event brought together more than 60 participants, including representatives from international organizations in Vienna, permanent missions, the University of Vienna, and the media.
Chargé d'Affaires a.i. Yin Haigang gave a comprehensive briefing on President Xi Jinping's keynote address at the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women, stressing that the meeting would inject new and strong impetus into the advancement of women's causes worldwide. He stated that China stands ready to work with all parties, guided by the spirit of the Beijing Conference on Women and the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women, strive to build a community with a shared future for humanity, accelerate the new process for women's all-round development, and create a better future for humanity.
Participants spoke highly of the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women, noting that the important initiatives proposed and concrete measures announced by President Xi Jinping demonstrated China's strong commitment and contribution to the advancement of women's development. They believed these would provide important guidance and momentum for the global cause of women's progress.
