Broadcasters Mourn Loss of Roy Floyd

Texas Radio and Television Broadcasters are mourning the loss of Pioneer Broadcaster Roy Floyd of Bonham. He was 80 years old.

A former Member of the TAB Board of Directors, Floyd owned and managed KFYN/KFYZ Radio in Bonham from 1975 to 2006, where his voice became a familiar and trusted presence in the community. Roy hosted many beloved and long-running local radio programs, including Town and Country,Sounding Board, Turkey Talk, Trading Post, Letters to Santa, and many others.

His wit, warmth, and gift for conversation made these programs community favorites for generations.

The visitation & memorial service celebrating Floyd's life and legacy will be on Friday, Nov. 14 at Roy V. Floyd Community Center (Armory). The visitation will take place at 1 PM with the memorial service starting at 2 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Bonham Senior Citizens Center to continue the community service that Roy so deeply valued.
