Chinese Ambassador to New Zealand Wang Xiaolong and Chinese Consul General in Auckland Chen Shijie Attend the 2026 “Galloping Horses · Red Horse Welcomes Spring” Pop-Up Event[...]

On 15 February, the 2026 "Galloping Horses · Red Horse Welcomes Spring" Pop-Up event and the launching ceremony of the "Happy Chinese New Year" series were held in Auckland. Ambassador Wang Xiaolong and Consul General Chen Shijie attended the event, jointly inaugurating the Spring Festival celebration with representatives from all walks of life in the consular district.

The event kicked off with the sound of drums and gongs, featuring a solo performance of Wanjiang, Sichuan Opera face-changing, and a lion dance, all of which showcased the atmosphere of the Chinese New Year. The "Lucky Horse" was presented as a large-scale art installation, and the "Red Horse Welcomes Spring" XR digital experience was also launched on site, integrating traditional Spring Festival elements with technological vitality. 

The event was organized by the China Cultural Center in Auckland and the New Zealand International Art Exchange Association.
