The first meeting of 2026 of Thematic Panel 4, titled "From clubs to communities: sports and radicalisation - insights, gender considerations and tools for local practitioners", took place on 16-17 March 2026 in Brussels. The meeting explored how sport and e-sport are connected to violent extremism, looking at current trends, emerging risks and opportunities for prevention. The discussions were also framed by the broader EU policy context, including the ProtectEU Agenda1 and its focus on prevention, particularly when it comes to protecting minors and vulnerable groups.
