Michigan Horse Racing Advisory Commission Announces 2025 Equine Grant Recipients

LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan Horse Racing Advisory Commission (HRAC) today announced the recipients of the 2025 Equine Grant Program.

The grants provide $69,124 to support the following five projects:

  • Croswell Fair $24,555 for replacement of track lighting
  • Eastern UP Horsemen s Association $5,000 for safety and drainage improvements in their horse racing arena
  • Fowlerville Family Fair $9,989 for harness track updates and promotion of harness racing at the fair
  • Midland County Fair $15,000 for harness track rehabilitation and safety improvements
  • Winner s Circle Speed Sale $14,580 for administration and promotional costs

The Equine Grant Program, established by the Horse Racing Law of 1995 and supported by the HRAC, provides grant funding for:

  • The promotion and marketing of horse racing,
  • Equine-related research,
  • Equine-related support and aftercare, and
  • Other equine-related horse racing programs.

To qualify for the Equine Grant Program, entities must have been in business for at least two years, be in good standing with the state and be able to provide financial statements for the previous fiscal year. A joint evaluation committee reviews grant applications through a competitive process with final decisions made by the HRAC.
