On behalf of the United States of America, my congratulations to the Austrian people on your national day.
The friendship between our peoples dates to the earliest days of the American republic. Today, our partnership includes robust cooperation on a range of global and regional security issues, such as energy security, sanctions enforcement, the protection of democracy and human rights, and disarmament and nonproliferation. We are also proud of our strong people-to-people and educational ties, embodied in the new bilateral professional development and cultural exchange program launched earlier this year.
We thank the government and people of Austria for joining with us to support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and your political, economic, humanitarian and diplomatic engagement on behalf of the Ukrainian people and their freedom.
The United States values our continued friendship and partnership in the service of a free, democratic and prosperous future for both our peoples. I wish you a joyful national day celebration.
