RALEIGH - The North Carolina Republican Party (NCGOP) forcefully calls out two sham complaints filed by partisan liberal activist Bob Hall as nothing more than a coordinated political attack designed to intimidate Republican election officials and undermine confidence in North Carolina elections.
"Bob Hall is yet again abusing the complaint process to conduct a partisan smear campaign against Republicans. It's reckless, dishonest, and we will not tolerate it," said NCGOP Chairman Jason Simmons.
These complaints are targeting Cumberland County Board of Elections Chairwoman Linda Devore and Board Secretary Brenda Eldridge-two respected, longtime public servants who have faithfully executed their duties under North Carolina law.
The complaint, on its face, is a recycled list of bombastic language dressed up as legal claims. Its aimlessness speaks volumes when Hall resorts to criticizing Devore's actions in rightfully appointing qualified Republican precinct officials to oversee what the State Board of Elections called "one of the smoothest election days in recent history."
The hollowness of this complaint at its core reflects the habitual vapidness that Hall continuously attaches his name to.
"There is not a single credible allegation of legal or procedural wrongdoing. Just innuendo, spin, and political resentment which have absolutely no merit,"Simmons added.
Hall's complaint against Board Secretary Brenda Eldridge is even weaker-hinging on a four-year-old campaign contribution that was lawful, properly reported, and entirely unrelated to her current role.
In four years, Hall hasn't produced one witness, one verified claim, or one piece of evidence showing wrongdoing. That tells you everything you need to know. Hall can't produce a single person alleged to have made an unreported campaign donation.
The NCGOP will not sit back while partisan activists weaponize government processes to harass Republican volunteers. If you abuse the system to attack public servants, there will be consequences.
