BEST BETS

UA Holds Spring Commencement

Over 6,600 degrees will be awarded during The University of Alabama's spring 2025 commencement at Coleman Coliseum May 2-4. Each year, UA awards around 9,500 degrees, with graduates infusing the state and nation's workforce with highly educated talent.

Why This Matters: A degree from UA has proven to provide an abundant return on investment for graduates. According to the latest economic impact report, UA's 2022-2023 graduating class with a bachelor's degree had an average starting salary that is $25,000 more than the starting salary of those with a high school diploma. The average starting salary increases for those with master's and doctorate degrees.

Thousands Contribute to Bama Blitz

More than 1,500 people made gifts to UA during the eighth annual Bama Blitz fundraising campaign.

Why This Matters: More than 1,600 gifts from 1,532 UA supporters in 43 states were made during the crowdfunded, social media-driven campaign. All gifts to Bama Blitz are part of The Rising Tide 2.0 Capital Campaign, UA's 10-year, $1.8 billion effort to elevate the campus to new heights through enhancing scholarships, faculty endowments, facilities and athletics.

UA Set to Host Summer Camps

UA is offering a variety of youth camps that will provide enriching learning opportunities throughout the summer. For a list of summer camps and registration information, visit the UA Youth Programs website.

RISE Center Hosts Fundraiser

The UA RISE Center will host its annual CHIP in for RISE April 29 at the University Club in Tuscaloosa.

Why This Matters: Fundraising support has been instrumental in the program's longevity and its ability to provide much needed early intervention services to children of varying abilities in the Tuscaloosa area. The silent auction will feature UA athletic memorabilia, golf packages, jewelry and original works of art. Tickets will be available at the door.

Morrow Faculty Excellence Fellow in the Culverhouse College of Business, is the recipient of the 2024 Burnum Distinguished Faculty Award. A reception will follow.
