Arrington’s Statement on the Democrat Government Shutdown

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) released the following statement after House and Senate Democrats voted against the clean Continuing Resolution:

"The Democrats' wildly unserious demands for an additional $1.5 trillion-including health care for illegals and welfare for able-bodied adults who refuse to work-will result in veterans and vulnerable citizens suffering lack of services, military contracts being cancelled, and taxpayers and the economy losing billions of dollars.

"The Democrat Party used to be against shutdowns until they were overrun by the socialist Left - and you just can't reason with radicals." - House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19)
