Ingram Barge entered into an exclusive services agreement with CHS Inc.

ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI, US - CHS Inc. has entered into an exclusive services agreement with Ingram Barge Co. subsidiary SCF Lewis and Terminals LLC that provides CHS exclusive rights to fertilizer throughput at Ingram's Municipal River Terminal in St. Louis, Missouri, US, and for fertilizer transport services.

CHS, the nation's largest farmer-owned cooperative and a global agribusiness, said the agreement will expand the cooperative's capacity to deliver fertilizer to farmers during the busy spring growing season.

"We are better able to serve our owners and customers by establishing a new pathway to the global market, facilitating flexible rail shipments of multiple products and increasing our shipping capacity of fertilizer products for in-season delivery," said Roger Baker, vice president, crop nutrients, CHS. "As a global agribusiness, CHS continues to look for ways to strengthen our supply chains to provide value and enhance market access for US growers."

CHS said it now will be able to load multiproduct unit rail shipments of commodity fertilizers from the St. Louis Municipal River Terminal on the Mississippi River and more efficiently deliver fertilizers to customers and owners. The enhanced CHS supply chain facilitates import and domestic distribution of nitrogen, phosphate, potassium and sulfur fertilizers.

Based in St. Paul, Minnesota, US, CHS's agronomy, grains, foods and energy businesses recorded revenues of about $39 billion in fiscal year 2024. The cooperative operates 230 grain storage facilities with 403.01 million bushels of licensed storage and is the second-largest North American grain handler as listed in Sosland Publishing Co.'s 2025 Grain & Milling Annual.

Ingram Barge Co., part of the Ingram Marine Group, operates a fleet of approximately 150 towboats and 5,100 barges that transport aggregates, grain, fertilizer, coal, ores, alloys, steel products, chemicals and other products.

"Ingram is looking forward to partnering with CHS to help move vital nutrients to farmers for their crops," said John Roberts, president and chief executive officer of Ingram Barge Co. "We've enjoyed a strong working relationship with CHS over the years and this is a great opportunity for our companies to further grow that relationship."
