"Every American wants and needs… the opportunity to succeed, security in his or her home and future, and a nation that is just."
WILMINGTON, Del. - In case you missed it, U.S. Senator Chris Coons (D-Del.) published an op-ed in Bay to Bay News outlining a series of economic policies, from raising the minimum wage to passing pro-worker AI regulation, that will help working people thrive despite the struggles of the Trump economy.
"Too many Delawareans feel like they're working as hard as they can, and somehow, they're still just getting by, or worse," Senator Coons begins. "Wages are slipping further behind the cost of living, and they question whether anyone in Washington is thinking about them. That shouldn't be the case."
In the op-ed, Senator Coons lays out the three things he focuses on to make sure policies will help Delawareans: opportunity, security, and justice. He also raises several policies he supports to help working people:
"It shouldn't be this hard to live in the richest nation on Earth," Senator Coons closes. "By focusing on opportunity, security and justice for Delawareans, I am working to help you make and keep more money, while reducing the cost of essentials. My job is to deliver that for you."

That shouldn't be the case.
That's why, in every policy I put forward, I make sure you are at the center.
That means focusing on three things every American wants and needs: the opportunity to succeed, security in his or her home and future, and a nation that is just.
So, what are the concerns Washington is ignoring? Stagnating wages? The rising cost of energy, healthcare and housing? The rise of artificial intelligence in the workplace?
That has to change.
