Marine Advisory - South Gulf Cove Lock to be Opened

Marine Advisory - South Gulf Cove Lock to be Opened

To help raise water levels in the canal system, the South Gulf Cove lock will be opened from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., starting Tuesday, April 15, through Saturday, April 19 to allow water flow. These times may vary depending on the tides.

During the lock opening, strong currents will be present. Boaters are urged to use extreme caution when navigating through the area. The lock will remain open to boat traffic, but passage is at your own risk. Please exercise care and maintain control of your vessel at all times.

Lock tenders will be monitoring VHF Radio Channel 72 for communications. Please note that lock tenders are not responsible for providing assistance or guidance on vessel operation. Boaters should be prepared and knowledgeable in handling their own vessels.

Thank you for your cooperation and for keeping our waterways safe.
