Following the releases of "PSYCHOLOGICAL" and "Buzzards," The Band Perry (Kimberly Perry, Johnny Costello) adds to a romantic-goth trilogy with their new song "Kill It" (out today), a story of a heartbroken love that remains alive and kicking, refusing to be outsmarted, outrun or buried no matter the pain it's endured. Featuring a holy instrumental trinity of fiddle, mandolin and dobro, Kimberly Perry's distinctive, raspy vocals desperately fight to escape love's grip, singing:

I thought someone new could fix it

Told myself some lies to trick it

Drank too much just to forget it

Tried to put it six feet deep in a hole

Thought I had the guts to pull the trigger but I didn't

If this is a game, I'd say that you're winning

My love's still alive and kicking

Guess only one of us knows how to kill it

Produced by ACM and CMA Award-winner Dann Huff and written by Karley Scott Collins, Nathan Chapman and Sam Backoff, "Kill It" finds the duo determined to bury love six feet deep before heartbreak can strike again, but unable to pull the trigger.

"'My love's still alive and kicking' is my favorite line in this song and, honestly, my entire personality," says Kimberly Perry. "I never know when to give up on someone… or something. 'Kill It' is my confession that I'd rather lose with my heart still beating than win by burying mine first."

The Band Perry recently stunned on the ACM Awards red carpet (photos HERE) and is currently touring across the country on their Psycho Rodeo Tour. The duo will make special stops at CMA Fest 2026 in Nashville, including an appearance on the Billboard Country Live lineup and at SiriusXM The Highway's Music Row Happy Hour on June 4th, a headlining set at Nissan Stadium on June 5th, and a performance at Spotify House on June 6th.
