Commonwealth, Ashby, and Glebe Flood Mitigation Project Community Meeting - June 4

The City of Alexandria will host a public meeting for the Commonwealth, Ashby, Glebe Flood Mitigation Project on Thursday, June 4 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Leonard "Chick" Armstrong Recreation Center. Community members will also have the option to attend the meeting virtually via Zoom.

Registration is required, please sign up through the smartsheet link.

Due to aging infrastructure, outdated stormwater design criteria, and more frequent and intense rainfall, the Commonwealth, Ashby, Glebe Flood Mitigation Project was developed to reduce frequent flooding near the intersections of Commonwealth Avenue near East Glebe Road, and East Glebe Road near Ashby Street. The plan includes larger pipelines, a new outfall to divert stormwater to Four Mile Run, and green infrastructure to provide water quality benefits to the watershed.

The community meeting will update residents, business and other community members on the current design plans, utility relocations, and the upcoming construction schedule.
