The Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) program at Loma Linda University School of Public Health has earned initial accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) for a four-year term.
Building on the School of Public Health's legacy since its own accreditation from the Executive Board of the American Public Health Association in 1967, the MHA program prepares students for careers managing hospitals, health services organizations, and public health infrastructure. The program blends healthcare delivery systems and population health principles through case-based learning and is offered both online and on campus. Students benefit from a small faculty-to-student ratio, individualized leadership coaching, a built-in practicum, and networking opportunities through partnerships with organizations such as the American College of Healthcare Executives.
"Achieving CAHME accreditation is a meaningful milestone for our program and reflects the commitment of our faculty, students, alumni, and advisory partners to academic excellence and continuous improvement," said Huma Shah, DrPH, FACHE, program director for the MHA program. "I am proud of how this recognition affirms the quality of our program and our shared mission to prepare values-driven healthcare leaders."
Since 1968, CAHME has served the public interest by advancing the quality of healthcare management education globally. CAHME accredits 175 academic programs in management, which has broadly been defined to include healthcare quality and safety, and population health.
"CAHME advances the quality of healthcare management education through accreditation that emphasizes rigor, accountability, and continuous improvement," said Maureen C. Jones, PhD, RN, president & CEO, CAHME. "Through evaluation by experts in both academia and healthcare practice, accredited programs demonstrate that their curriculum and competency models are aligned to industry needs and designed to prepare graduates for meaningful impact in the field."
