The City of Tampa's Rising Explorers summer program has 70 paid internships available that can bring students money, inspiration, and invaluable career insight.
Rising Explorers is for 16- to 19-year-olds who are current students at any Hillsborough County High School, public or private.
The jobs pay $15 an hour, and the students will work 32 hours a week, from June 8-August 7.
Application deadline is April 1. Visit tampa.gov/internships for more information.
"What a wonderful opportunity for dozens of eager students to get their careers going," Mayor Jane Castor said. "They'll get hands-on experience and make connections."
The program has been so successful that the number of internships has jumped this year from 48 to 70.
"The Rising Explorers High School Internship Program is a launchpad," Workforce Partnerships and Special Projects Director Brenda McKenzie said. "We believe that when we invest in young talent early, we don't just change their future trajectory, we strengthen ours."
