AUC Chairperson received the Ambassador of the Republic of Angola

The Chairperson of the AU Commission H.E. @ymahmoudali received H.E. Mr. Miguel Bembe, Ambassador of the Republic of Angola & Permanent Representative to the AU.

Ambassador Bembe conveyed, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Angola, a formal invitation from His Excellency President João Lourenço to the Chairperson to attend the upcoming U.S.-Africa Summit, scheduled for 22 June 2025. He further informed the Chairperson of preparations for the High-Level Infrastructure Summit, to be hosted under the auspices of President Lourenço on 13-14 October 2025, in Luanda.

The Chairperson welcomed the invitation to the U.S.-Africa Summit & expressed keen interest in participating. He commended Angola's leadership in prioritising infrastructure development as a critical driver of regional integration & economic transformation. The Chairperson also reaffirmed his commitment to engage with the @AUC_PAPS regarding Angola's proposal to convene the peace and conflict summit, noting its relevance to continental stability and unity under Angola's stewardship of the Union.
