Chinese Consul General in Penang Zhou Youbin Attends the 151st Anniversary Celebration of the Penang Chinese Town Hall

On September 26, Chinese Consul General in Penang Zhou Youbin attended the 151st Anniversary Celebration of the Penang Chinese Town Hall (PCTH). Penang Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow; Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development of Malaysia YB Steven Sim Chee Keong, Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development of Malaysia YB Lim Hui Ying, PCTH chairman Tan Sri Dr. Tan Khoon Hai, alongside representatives from various local sectors attended the event.

In his address, Consul General Zhou noted that the PCTH has actively united the local Chinese community, preserved and promoted Chinese culture, and contributed to fostering exchanges and cooperation between China and Malaysia. He highlighted China's global leadership in AI development and its active promotion of the Global AI Governance Initiative, noting the vast prospects for AI cooperation between China and Malaysia. He also mentioned Prime Minister YAB Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim's recent visit to Shanghai and Hangzhou as a testament to the close, friendly relations and robust cooperation between the two countries in relevant fields. He hopes that the local Chinese community would seize the opportunities of the times and continue to make positive contributions to the friendly cooperation between China and Malaysia.
