WEEK AT A GLANCE: Tarleton State Athletics hosts thrilling week of events, Texan Football opens Memorial Stadium for Spring Game

The Texans are competing each day this week and five of those days will take place in Stephenville.

TEXAN FOOTBALL is back in Memorial Stadium for their first action of 2025 in the Spring Game. After an incredible 2024 season that ended with a 10-4 record and FCS Playoff berth, the Texans are itching to showcase their offseason skills to Texan Nation. The Spring Game is set to begin at 12 p.m. on Saturday, with the doors opening to Memorial Stadium an hour beforehand. There will be numerous incentives attached to this event, including opportunities for fans to see their own pictures shown on the videoboard, a Tarleton State student a chance to win the rights to fire the cannon during the 2025 home opener, and postgame autographs from the team on the field. Admission is free to all fans to the Spring Game. Texan Football opens their 2025 season at Portland State Aug. 23 and will return to Memorial Stadium Sept. 6 against Mississippi Valley State.

TEXAN TENNIS took down the two-time defending WAC champions, Grand Canyon, last week, 4-3. Originally scheduled to be in Stephenville last week, the weather pushed the match to SMU's indoor facility in Dallas, but that did not faze the Texans in defeating the Lopes for the first time since 2023. The Texans wrap up their regular season this week, starting with UT Arlington at the Tarleton Tennis Facility at 1 p.m. on Thursday. This will be double promotion day, as the Texan Corps of Cadets will flood the stands for Military Appreciation and the seniors will be recognized prior to the match for the Senior Day. The Texan seat cushions will also be given away to early arriving fans this match since their home match was relocated due to weather last week, as well as Tennis boot koozies. They will wrap their regular season at Abilene Christian at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The WAC Tournament is set for April 17-19 in Arlington. Times and opponents will be announced following the conclusion of the regular season.

TEXAN SOFTBALL went undefeated last week, sweeping Utah Tech and outscoring the Trailblazers 21-6 over three games. The Texans remain at home this week, beginning against North Texas at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. There will be mini helmets given away to early arriving fans to this nonconference matchup. They will resume conference play on Friday, hosting Utah Valley in a doubleheader to begin the three-game series. The action is set to begin at 4 p.m. in the Tarleton Softball Complex and there will be Texan branded umbrellas given away while supplies last. They will wrap up the series on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Texans go on a five-game road trip following this, starting at Lamar for a doubleheader April 15. Their next home game will be April 22 against Prairie View A&M.

TEXAN BASEBALL opens their week at UIW, looking for the sweep against the Cardinals this season after taking the 18-3 victory at the Tarleton Baseball Complex in March. This game will take place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. The Texans welcome UT Arlington to town on Friday to continue conference play and begin a three-game series at 6 p.m. for the Purple Out game. There will be Texan sunglasses that will be given away to early arriving fans that game. Game two will be Saturday at 3 p.m. for Alumni Day. They will wrap up the series at 1 p.m. on Sunday. The Texans have a five-game road stretch following this, beginning in College Station at Texas A&M on April 15. Their next home game will be April 25 to open a three-game series against Utah Tech.

TEXAN WOMEN'S GOLF was impressive yet again, tying for fourth at the 2025 Fresno State Classic last week. Louise Depadt was the star in Fresno, winning it all for the first time in her career as a Texan, shooting -5. The Texans are a little closer to home this week, traveling to Dallas on Monday to compete in the Veritex Bank Collegiate. The competition begins Monday and will conclude on Tuesday. The is the last regular season event for the Texans, as the WAC Championship is next and will be April 14-16 in Arizona.

TEXAN MEN'S GOLF sees the course in action for the first time in over a month, heading to College Station to compete in the Aggie Invitational this Saturday and Sunday. In their last outing, the Texans finished seventh at the Bandon Dunes Invitational in Oregon. They will have a quick turnaround, as their next competition to wrap up their Spring regular season is set for April 18-19 in Columbus, Ohio, at the Robert Kepler Invitational. The WAC Championship will be April 25-27 in Payson, Arizona.
