There are some partners who offer quiet, consistent support, but whose "secret sauce" is the important message they bring to every endeavor. And this #ThankfulThursday, we're celebrating HighByte, one of the world's leading industrial DataOps software companies (Based right here in Maine).
They've unfailingly supported Project Login's Girls Who Code progam over the years. At this year's GWC day camp in Portland, HighByte Co-Founder and Chief Communications Officer Torey Penrod-Cambra not only encouraged the campers to consider a wide array of future roles in tech; she cast them as change-makers simply by starting where they are, as middle-school students interested in technology. "We want and need you to grow your STEM career here in Maine!"
Educate Maine's Director of STEM Pathways and Innovation Angela Oechslie has partnered with HighByte from the outset of the GWC program.
"We are so grateful to HighByte and their long-term support of our Girls Who Code clubs and camps initiatives," she said. "Sustained support matters, because people do their best work when they know they are not alone and that they have a community behind them for the long term. Closing the gender gap in tech matters because every learner deserves to see themselves in the field, and our communities benefit when more voices, experiences, and talents help shape the future."
