Senator Warren Statement on September 2026 CPI and Updated Trumpflation Tracker Data

Washington, D.C. - United States Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Ranking Member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee released the following statement:

"Donald Trump promised to lower costs on 'Day One.' Instead, prices are up 5.9% since December 2024, costing families $3,772 on average from inflation alone. Today's data confirms that households paid more for gas and housing in September, core inflation increased, and wages still aren't keeping up. Real wages have now failed to keep pace with inflation for six straight months, and are down 1.3% since Trump's war began."
